About Janie

Janie Behr is a national consultant, speaking professional, and author, with more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Janie has developed a unique way of presenting sensitive topics in a high-energy, thought-provoking way. She designs and delivers presentations and helps coordinate initiatives for companies as well as professional associations and educational institutions. Janie received her Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a certified life Coach personally trained by Dr. Martha Beck, New York Times bestselling author and life columnist for The Oprah Magazine! Her education, professional life and personals experiences give her a unique insight and uncanny speaking style. Her dynamic and interactive style will inspire you to get your life in balance!

Her latest book Paint Your Walls Green, Six Keys to Unlock the Power of Positive Change is the true story of her personal journey of enlightenment after her 2003 diagnosis of advanced-stage glaucoma. She faced a whole host of subsequent challenging circumstances, including becoming completely blind in one eye and partially blind in the other. Step by step, Janie began redefining her life as she learned to live in her new set of circumstances.

Janie’s inspiring life has included traveling the world. She has raised more than $500,000 for the Center for Women and Families, and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. Janie has raised four happy and successful children and spends her free time – with her faithful companions Sam and Sophie – seeking new adventures.
